Hermínio Cerqueira was born in Lisbon on April 13, 1953, and studied at the Liceu Camões, where Dr. Virgílio Ferreira, Dr. Mário Dionísio, and João Neves gave him a love of the Portuguese, French, and English languages. He grew up under the Estado Novo dictatorship and its censorship and, for decades, wrote without publishing. In 2026 he made his work public: a multilingual catalog which, as of September 2026, comprises 90 works in 200 editions and 12 languages, ranging from strategy and geopolitics to cyber defense, Europe and Portugal, democracy, artificial intelligence, and poetry. He lives in Sintra.
